According to the majority of Muslims, Qurbaniis highly recommended, and as per the Hanafi madhab, it’s compulsory for any sane adult Muslim female or male who is wealthy over what they need.

Who is Qurbani mandatory on?
In the Hanafi School of Thought asserts that the obligation to perform Qurbani is mandatory to:
- Every sensible Muslim aged over (who have reached puberty)
- Non-travelling persons
- Individuals who have additional money that is not sufficient to meet their financial needs, which is in excess of (or greater than) the present level of the nisab (87.48 grams of gold, 612.36 kilograms of silver)

Exceptions for Qurbani Eligibility

- Women who are pregnant
