MAKKAH: The father of sheikh Baleela who is one of the imams from Mecca’s Kaaba in Mecca passed away in Mecca on the morning of Tuesday. He was 85 years old.
Sheikh Baleela revealed the announcement of the death of his father through his personal Twitter page. He asked the followers of his account to pray for the soul of his father and ask the forgiveness of his father. He also expressed gratitude for the condolences and sympathies the public showed him from his followers and other imams.
The funeral prayer of Sheikh Baleela’s father will take place within the Masjid Al-Haram, the Grand Mosque of Mecca on Tuesday following the Dhuhr Salat or the noon prayers. The funeral will take place at Al-Ma’la Cemetery, a historic cemetery close to the mosque where prominent figures of Islamic history are interred.
Sheikh Baleela is one of the imams who are official of the Kaaba in accordance with an official royal decree that was issued in October of this year. He is also a professor of Sharia law at Umm Al-Qura University in Mecca. He is famous for his beautiful and emotional rendition of the Quran that has drawn millions of listeners on the internet.
